From a very early age, my skin was an important issue in my life. It started with the fact that I had freckles, which was not something that fit the stereotype of perfect skin. Yes, freckles being in fashion is something very recent and, during my childhood and adolescence, it was more than enough reason for jokes that, for me, were not funny at all.
The need to be “like others” led me to do some small crazy things when it came to my skin. To achieve a more tanned appearance, expose yourself to the sun for long hours, often without sun protection. I practically turned into a pink shrimp, but the worst thing by far was the repercussions that these habits had on my skin. -

With the maturity that age brought me, I started to worry about my skin and, after consulting a dermatologist, I realized that the lack of care for years ended up being reflected in skin with marks and expression wrinkles that were more pronounced than that. which would be normal for a 30 year old.
I began, in an almost military regime, to take care of my skin and then the “trigger” was given for this care to begin to be, to a certain extent, part of me.
I accept myself as I am but with the awareness that self-care is also part of that being.
The self-care routine started to be something really pleasurable and so did the feeling of discovering and trying products that really have an effect on my skin. And so the dream of, one day, sharing this feeling with other women was built, through products that value the best that each of us has - the ability to take care of ourselves!

I start by saying that business ideas are something that is part of me. I have always been interested in finding solutions to people's problems and transforming these solutions into businesses. After all, it's no surprise that I graduated in business management and today work with project management and continuous improvement.
In fact, skincare routines never deserved special attention from me - I did the minimum and had “normal” skin, but there were two situations in my life that changed my need and attitude towards skin care a little: motherhood and the experience of living in a big, fast-paced city like São Paulo (Brazil). -

The desire to start taking better care of myself arose from the examples that surrounded me and a certain discomfort I felt in relation to my image - extremely fair skin, glasses and deep purple circles under my eyes. After implementing a simple skincare and makeup routine, I realized that something so simple can make a huge difference in our daily lives and in the way we look at ourselves. This care is something that I am not willing to give up but it has to be quick, fitting in between the challenges of working, having two children, managing a house, among others.

But how did L:S come about?
We met in Brazil, where we worked together, and we always kept in touch until we (re)met in Portugal. We have different paths - and also different motivations in relation to our skincare routine, but we find ourselves dreaming of creating something that gives all women the opportunity to take care of their skin quickly and using simple products.
AL:S was born from a conversation between two friends who set out on the adventure of creating a different, special brand that is sorely missed in the skincare market. It is born from our needs and is a mirror of our own journey as consumers. It's not about us but it's about all women who, like us, want to increase self-care and improve their self-esteem, on a path of growth and self awareness.
May you be as happy on this adventure as we are!
